Day 272 – Get Out

“Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.” – Regina Brett

Today I worked from home, on the days I work from home, I usually confine myself inside the house until the end of the work day. Today, however, I went outside at lunch to walk around a bit and talk with a friend on the phone and on my other break swept the back porch. That little bit of sunshine made the world of difference to my sanity. After work, I then went to the tennis courts with TJ to hit a few balls around. Then, went to get my Dad and ran some errands together. I came home and stuffed myself as I was starving.

What do I mean by telling you my day? I have a point, I swear. I have been mindlessly eating and shuttering myself at home because it became comfortable and I became a creature of my new comfort by staying home during weekdays. I felt fantastic today and accomplished. I don’t feel run down or super tired, and my spirits have lifted a bit. I’ve been in a funk lately as I mentioned last night in my slump post about skipping the gym. I am taking baby steps but I’m enjoying the changes I’m making to get back outside and doing the things I love. COVID has messed up a lot of things for many of us and I’m also one of those people. I have social anxiety now and it’s really tough to navigate. I’m slowly working on myself though and getting back out there. It’s so important to work on your mental and physical health as it’s your whole well-being at stake here. Be kind to yourself and take the little steps you need to get back to yourself again.
