Day 213 – Put Up the Blinders

“Comparison is an act of violence against the self.” – Iyanla Vanzant

“Happiness is found when you stop comparing yourself to other people.” – Anonymous

Stop it! You know you do it, you’re looking at what everyone else is doing around you. It will drive you nuts, whether your behind, on pace, ahead.. it doesn’t matter and it’s not real. Everyone is on their own path and there is no timeline to meet, no requirements to life to meet other than to live and be you. It’s almost an uncontrollable thing in the present and I think it’s mostly due to social media. Everyone is posting their “flexes” and life updates and it will make you feel a certain way. Take it for what it is, be happy for others but also find your own happiness. Just because someone just bought a house, it doesn’t mean you need to buy a house nor does it mean your behind. Put up the blinders, set your own goals, live your life and don’t wait to be happy one day, just find your happiness in each day. My happiness today will be found in some relaxation and playing a new game with one of my close friends. It’s that simple, less comparison equals more self-happiness.

Item 213 of 360+

Today’s decluttered item is an older laundry basket that is falling apart. It served us well but it’s purpose is no more so now it’s time to let it go.
