Day 152 – Vacation Time

“Happiness consists of living each day as if it were the first day of your honeymoon and the last day of your vacation.” – Leo Tolstoy

I don’t know about you guys, but I always get anxiety before going on a big vacation. Especially if it’s planned super quickly. I grew up not going on trips much so I wasn’t accustomed to flying or the planning aspect of vacations. As I’ve gotten older, TJ and I have gone on vacations together to Europe and Disney world (twice) and the beach plenty of times. These are some of my most precious memories from these trips, however, I still get anxiety before going on these trips. I feel like it’s not supposed to happen as it is out of my normal life and isn’t “safe.” Well, I’ve taught myself now that sometimes you just have to deal with the abnormality vacations cause in your normal schedule because that is the exact point of a vacation. It’s a break from your daily life. I’m learning to get out of my comfort zone and grab life by the horns and just go. These are the trips that will be remembered always and remain as some of the best times of my life so we just got to do it.

TJ and I are fortunate enough to get to use my aunt’s timeshare in Aruba as our honeymoon next week. We just found out Friday that we are leaving this upcoming Sunday so naturally I was freaked out given my usual vacation nerves. Now though I’m very excited to just go and enjoy a relaxing vacation with my wonderful husband TJ who’s my best friend. I know this will be a great trip and it’ll be perfect because I tell myself it will be, therefore, it will be!

Item 152 of 360+

Today’s item is a pair of TJ’s shorts that will be donated to someone new to wear this summer season. I swear TJ will have no more summer clothes left to wear with this last haul of items he is giving away but TJ is convinced he has enough. He is a true minimalistic guy!
