“Do or do not. There is no try.” – Yoda
We are only twenty-five days away from our 365 day challenge! We are getting to the end here and the amount of items and bags have piled up from all of the things we’ve been getting rid of. Sometimes we don’t get rid of the items right away once we fill a bag, I’d be lying if I said this was on purpose… we get busy like everyone else and have a pile set aside in the one room from time to time. However, when we do let the items pile up, it really gives a visual of how much we’ve really gotten rid of throughout the past 340 days. It’s crazy to think we had all of that extra stuff hanging around the house.
You’re probably thinking that our house looks bare now after getting rid of over 340 items so far. That’s not the case, as we’ve bought and acquired new items. Many of the items we got rid of were mostly in excess. If you’re thinking that minimalism might be too extreme for you, think again. We got rid of things such as extra bags, paperwork, and electrical cords. Everyone has those things laying about that help make the house less junky. Getting rid of items I thought would get harder throughout the year, and yeah, we’ve reached slumps, but we always found items. It’s actually getting easier for me to let go of things and think outside of the box of what other items are laying around in plain sight that aren’t being useful to us.
Item 340 of 360+
Today’s item is a pair of shades that were on a window when we moved into the house. As TJ and I were putting up Christmas lights, we thought to ourselves, ‘do we really need these?’ Easy to ask these questions to ourselves now, the answer was no so the trash here they come.
