“The simplest things in life give me the most pleasure: cooking a good meal, enjoying my friends.” – Cindy Morgan
I feel like that person in the stands holding up a sign for the world to see. Maybe this will be the game that everyone watching the TV will see me as the camera pans to my sign for 5 seconds of glory or maybe this one will just reach one person. Either way, I’m happy to be here and I do want to share one of my PSAs for the Holidays, something sign worthy if you ask me.
PSA: Do not wait for the holidays to see the people you love and enjoy.
This seems obvious but everyone is so caught up in stuff that they don’t even realize it. I know there are some families/friends that only see each other around big events and holidays. But my question is.. why wait? If it’s distance related, I get it. But if you live within one to two hours of one another, why is it that Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, weddings, parties and funerals are the only days of the year to meet up. Think of how crazy that is. Amalia and I were just able to enjoy a very nice meal with one of her Aunt’s that we haven’t seen in a while. It was a joy and I’m glad we were able to make time see them. Not only that, it was more personal because it was just four of us eating over dinner instead of with the masses. Masses of people you love are equally great in their own way but there is still something special about only a few people interacting. My hope is to just help some people wake up about what truly is important. I have some more thoughts on spending time with family and friends around the holiday, gifts and other topics but I plan to share them in more focused PSAs to come. Thanks for listening to this TJ PSA. Feel free to give us feedback or questions in the comments. We don’t bite.
Item 324 of 360+
Today’s daily decluttered item is some cable concealers that I ordered a few years ago. I’ve been saving them for a rainy day but I looked at the forecast and it’s all sunshine. I’m done sitting on these types of items, they are bulky and take up too much space. The rain never bothered me anyways.
