Day 233 – Finding Your Group

Today we have our fantasy football draft with our group of 10 friends. We do a live draft so that we can see all of our friends together and make it into a fun gathering. We’ve always had a group of 10, however, the group has changed between the years. There’s many reasons why our group has changed whether it be that people move out of the area, don’t want to do it anymore, or you’re just not close with some of the people anymore, etc. We have had a common core of a few OG’s (originals) and we always make it a fun time. We are now 27 years old and our friend group still changes a bit here and there but what I’ve found when you get older, is that your friend group changes by decreasing a bit and increasing an even smaller amount. Meaning that, you tend to have more friends when you’re younger and then they trail off here and there and as the years go on, you’re left with a common core group of friends that are always there for ya with a few outlier friends that you’ve picked up along the way.

I’ve found that the little group of friends you’re left with are worth a hundred fake friends or friends you’re just not that close with. Having events with our friends is just so fun because whenever you’re with your core group of friends, you don’t ever have to worry about having a good time. You’re always having a blast with your friends and you could be sitting around doing nothing! One of my favorite shows is That 70’s Show and I always think about that group of friends when I talk about finding your common core group. They have fun no matter what and are always down for anything. I know that no matter what tonight, even if we all pick each other’s players and sabotage each other’s fantasy teams, we’ll still have a blast doing it.

Today’s item is an old pair of shorts I’ve had for a long time! I’ve realized because my weight has never changed that much, that I hold onto everything that “still fits.” Well, that mentality is starting to wear thin and now it’s time to donate these guys.
