“Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.” – Voltaire
Today we have an employee appreciation day at work. This was the first of my career which is funny to say. What’s so funny about that one might ask? Well with my old organization, it was 5 years without a day like this. With my new job, I’ve only been here for four weeks and already was able to celebrate an appreciation day with everyone. The biggest thing for me was being able to talk to the fellow co workers that I hadn’t gotten a chance to meet yet due to working. This type of thing is so good for creating work relationships and boosting morale. It was a very nice day and Amalia was even able to join for some of it and meet some of my new partners in crime. Every company should be doing something like this, it can’t be all work and no play everyday. Once again it comes back to one of my favorite topics, balance. There is some give and take and at the end of the day, I feel appreciated as a new employee. Mission accomplished.
Item 225 of 360+
Today’s decluttered item is a couch that didn’t really work in our house. It was thrown in my gaming room but was never really used. It was an older couch and was no longer needed. This was another one of the items that went in a quick decision the night I called my roofer about using the dumpster for things in my house. I love how much free space the room now has and it feels like we made a great spur of the moment decision once again. The picture isn’t the best but it’s the minimalism/decluttering that counts.
