Day 91 – Question Your Routine

“Change might not be fast and it isn’t always easy. But with time and effort, almost any habit can be reshaped.” -Charles Duhigg

I have much less time to waste anymore, which can either be a really good or bad place to be depending on the activities that you do every day. If you find yourself in a bad place, it may simply be because your daily routine does not bring enough joy whether that be through learning, entertainment, family time, etc. Daily routines will always come back up for me as I have mentioned it before and will most likely talk about it again. Why? Because anything you do every day or most days affects your life so much whether you like to hear that or not. From how much you exercise, to how much you sleep at night, to how much you are on your phone, to making your coffee, breakfast, lunch, dinner.. If you do something daily, it’s a big deal and it shows you’re committed to something whether that positively or negatively effects your life.

My obsession lies in trying to tweak my routine to have positive effects on my course of life. My biggest step this year is of course writing this blog (shoutout to me typing this very moment.) Everyday, I or Amalia write a blog about something and we declutter an item we no longer need in our lives. It’s fulfilling and at minimum, it’s one positive step forward in our life. I am also a big advocate for personal health, which even I had some trouble with during the beginning of the pandemic. This year I have been much more motivated and on track so the gym and eating healthy are a part of my routine. Being healthy means discipline the day of and the day before. Why is that you may ask? Well, when I am going to work the next day, it is important to prepare myself with healthy food to ensure I don’t go to the cafeteria where the options may be unhealthy. A few other examples of positive daily routine things I have been implementing is take a multivitamin, less time on social media (TikTok is deleted and my social media apps notifications are off!), and trying my best to get proper sleep. All of these combined makes for good days and if you can consistently do it most days of the week, it goes a long way.

Some results from the things I have been focusing on daily…

  • I find it easier to write, which helps with work.
  • Less stuff, more space.
  • I’m down 12 lbs in 3 months.
  • My screen time is down an average 3 hours per my cell phone “screen time” app.

Item 091 of 360+

Today’s item is Funko Pop of Charlie from Supernatural. She was one of Amalia and I’s favorite characters. One of the most badass side characters to exist, she was part gamer and part computer hacker. Felicia Day is the actress who plays the role and she live streams gaming to raise money for charity, which is awesome. I know someone will be happy to get this exclusive Pop.
