Q1: What’s the last book you read?
Mine was The 5 Love Languages by Gary Chapman. This book was very interesting and for those of you who haven’t read or heard of it yet, it describes 5 main traits people associate with love. They are receiving gifts, words of affirmation, quality time, physical touch, and acts of service. You read about each love language and learn about instances where this may be someone’s primary love language. The stories the author tells from his past experiences as a marriage counselor vary greatly and yet are very relatable too. The two quotes chosen today are from Gary Chapman himself. They are incredible. The second quote especially spoke to me because your life’s big accomplishments really don’t mean too much if you have no one to share in the triumph and celebration with. Having someone by your side through everything no matter what leaves you desiring much less in life. What else could you possibly need? Having strong, loving, and respectful relationships with people is such a wonderful and beautiful experience. It should be cherished.
Q2: What’s your love language?
Mine is Acts of Service. When TJ does something around the house without me having to tell him I feel appreciated and loved. When he takes the time to do something for me out of a selfless act, it means a lot to me. For example, TJ fixed my broken vanity drawer one day while I was at work and I came home to a fixed drawer that I hadn’t even asked him to fix for me. He took the time to not only notice something that would mean something to me, he also acted upon it and fixed it for me as a surprise. That meant that he used his time for something that would purely benefit me and it really means so much to me. It coincides with the first quote today by Dr. Chapman that love is something you do for someone else, it is a selfless act. In my case for my love language, the act of service is the selflessness I associate the love with. I suggest reading the book, it has a quiz in the back to determine your love language so that you too can see what you and your partner’s languages are to help communicate better in your relationships.

Today’s item is a POP figure from Supernatural. It’s old Bobby Singer, if he could talk he’d call us idjits for getting rid of him! Haha. We used to be obsessed with the show and bought a bunch of POPs from Supernatural but it is no longer appreciated/valued so no use keeping it around.
