“Depending on what they are, our habits will either make us or break us. We become what we repeatedly do.” ―Sean Covey
Everyone has some sort of daily habits. These habits happen everyday without a thought, things like brushing your teeth or making a cup of coffee. So what is the difference between these tasks and things like minimalism or self-improvement? Well for starters, it’s a lot easier to brush your teeth and it’s something you have been doing since you were a child… This does not mean we can’t make other happens happen, there is just some added difficulty. Yes it’s difficult but think if you can add some type of self-improvement daily, think of the progress you would see by the end of the week/year. This, at a minimum, is what we hope to take away from the blog this year.
This blog, decluttering and minimalism is our attempt at creating a new daily habit for ourselves of decluttering the things in our life we no longer need. Sure, we could go find 360-365 items to declutter right now but not only would it be time consuming and more difficult, we may not truly get the purpose of our actions. By doing it daily and creating a habit, we hope it’s something that will help us permanently move forward with a more minimalistic mindset and lifestyle. My tidbit of wisdom for the day is if you find yourself not getting much accomplished, a good place to start may be trying to find ways to improve your daily habits.
Item 048 of 360+
Today’s item is a pair of shorts. These shorts have been worn plenty and have some battle scars because of it. Amalia says it best, I am “very rough” on my clothes, whether it’s stains from dirt or food. This usually leads me to keeping old clothes as a just in case but I have no good reason to keep these. Thanks for stopping by, we are slowly approaching day / item 50! Woooh!
