“Clutter is not just the stuff on your floor – it’s anything that stands between you and the life you want to be living.” -Peter Walsh
Hi everyone, it’s Amalia today (lucky you guys). Happy Saturday! It’s going to be impossible to top yesterday’s post when TJ downsized from his truck. However, today is about simplicity. What better way to start simple Saturday than by talking about a simplified way to start implementing minimalism into your everyday life?
Tip 1: Start small – maybe that junk drawer in the kitchen may be the perfect place to start. What about those things pushed to the way back? Maybe you wouldn’t even miss those things! Start going through and ask yourself, when’s the last time I used this? You’d be surprised how much you end up getting rid of.
Tip 2: Go over your financials – Take a look at your monthly budget. How much are you spending a month and on what things? Maybe that Starbucks coffee everyday is adding up and may want to invest in a nice coffee maker instead. Or, look at all the unnecessary spending you may be doing on clothes or home décor a month because you just felt like shopping. These may be things to look at and you may be surprised how much you’re actually spending on unnecessary items.
Tip 3: Get mentally prepared – Starting to think about what things you may need or may not need in your life takes some deliberation. Sure going through papers and some old t-shirts are probably easier, but what about everything else? Going through some old items that you held onto for sentimental reasons may not actually serve a purpose anymore or give you joy. It can take a lot of mental preparation before reaching this step. Remember, this is not a race. This is a lifestyle. I hope these tips will help you to start your minimalism lifestyle if you’ve been thinking about trying it out for yourself! Jumping back to the quote today, are you tired of all the clutter building up inside your house? Well, this clutter may very well be standing in the way of the life you wish to live. So, what’s stopping you?
Item 023 of 360+
Today’s item is a pair of drapes we no longer have a purpose for anymore. We will be donating these drapes in hopes someone else can use them as they are still in good shape. Simple enough, if you don’t need it, don’t keep it! Enjoy the rest of your Saturday.
